Revolut Business, in the same books as your bank.

Connect your Revolut Business account and its transactions sit beside your local bank's in Sumly. Sumly tells card payments from exchanges, and pairs each transfer between your own accounts for you to approve.

  • Revolut Business only
  • Read-only
  • Each account keeps its currency

What it brings into your books.

A Revolut statement mixes card spend, customer payments, exchanges and money moved to your other accounts. Sumly tells them apart before it suggests a match.

  • Booked transactions in each account's own currency, with counterparty, reference and description.
  • A type on every line, such as card payment, refund, transfer or exchange. Sumly's rules read Revolut's own transaction codes, which we checked against a real Revolut export.
  • Transfers between your own accounts, paired with the line on the other side. One approval records the transfer.
  • Suggested matches between customer payments and invoices, and between supplier payments and bills.
  • Currency exchanges, which you record as internal transfers. Sumly posts the exchange gain or loss.

How to connect it.

Have the company's Revolut Business login ready.

  1. Add an account

Open the Bank accounts page, click Add account and stay on the Bank tab.

  2. Pick Revolut Business

Choose Revolut Business. Sumly sends you to Revolut to sign in.

  3. Approve read access

Approve the request in Revolut. It lets Sumly read transactions, and it can't move money.

  4. Tick your accounts

Choose the accounts to bring in. Each shows its currency, and each becomes its own account in your books.

  5. Renew in 180 days

You approve again at Revolut every 180 days. Sumly shows Re-authenticate on the account 14 days before the deadline.

Revolut Business and Sumly: questions

No. Sumly asks for access as a business customer, so only Revolut Business accounts connect. Company money belongs in the company's own account. Running it through a personal one is the most common bookkeeping problem we see.

No, it's a transfer. When the two lines have the same amount and currency and land within 2 days of each other, Sumly suggests them as a pair. One approval records the transfer between your accounts.

Choose Record as internal transfer on the line. Enter what left in euro and what arrived in dollars, plus any fee. Sumly values both sides at that day's ECB reference rate and posts the difference as an exchange gain or loss.

Sumly takes only booked transactions. A card payment still pending at Revolut arrives on a later sync, once Revolut books it. Syncs run several times a day.

Sumly won't suggest that pair. It suggests matches only when the bank line and the invoice share a currency. For a mixed pair, open the invoice's payment form and pick the line from the list.
