Become a Cyprustax resident — properly.
Cyprus tax residency plus non-domiciled status is the reason most founders move here — and it is two applications, a set of conditions and a certificate, not a form you fill in once. Sumly registers your residency, files the non-dom application, and tells you plainly whether you actually qualify before you pay.
Two things, done together
Tax residency decides which country taxes you. Non-dom decides what happens to your dividends once it does. Most people need both, and they are usually handled by two different offices.
Registered as resident — and the certificate to prove it
We register your Cyprus tax residency and obtain the tax residency certificate, which is the document every foreign bank, tax office and payment provider eventually asks you for. If you are going the 60-day route rather than the 183-day one, the conditions are strict and specific: we check each of them against your actual situation first.
- Residency registered with the Cyprus Tax Department
- Tax residency certificate obtained for you
- Every condition of the shorter route checked before you pay

The non-dom application, filed
Non-domiciled status is what exempts a Cyprus tax resident from Special Defence Contribution — the tax that would otherwise fall on dividends and interest. It has to be applied for; it does not arrive with residency. We prepare and file it alongside, so the two land together instead of one waiting on the other.
- The non-dom application prepared and filed
- Handled alongside residency, not after it
- GeSY still applies — we say so upfront rather than in the small print

If you don't qualify, we tell you before you pay
The shorter route needs a home available to you here, business or employment or a directorship in Cyprus held to year end, and no tax residency anywhere else. Plenty of people who want this don't meet it yet. We ask about each condition before anything is filed, and if your answers don't add up we say so rather than taking the order and finding out later.

Residency questions, answered
What does the service include?
€750 covers both: registering your Cyprus tax residency and obtaining the certificate, plus preparing and filing the non-dom application. One fixed price, no hourly billing. Excludes VAT, and government or other actual expenses are invoiced separately once your application is approved.
Do I need a Cyprus company first?
For the 60-day route, usually yes — it requires business, employment or a directorship in Cyprus held to the end of the tax year, and directing your own Cyprus company is the way most founders satisfy it. You can add company formation to the same order for €950.
Is non-dom the same as tax residency?
No, and conflating them is the most common mistake we see. Tax residency decides that Cyprus taxes you. Non-dom status is a separate application that exempts a Cyprus tax resident from Special Defence Contribution, which is the tax that would otherwise apply to dividends and interest. You need both, and they are applied for separately — which is why we do them together.
Do non-doms pay anything on dividends?
GeSY contributions still apply to dividends even for non-doms. Anyone telling you dividends are entirely tax-free in Cyprus is leaving that out. The rates and the annual cap are set by law and revised periodically, so we don't print them here — we go through your actual numbers with you.
What if my application isn't approved?
You get a full refund. The guarantee covers every Sumly service: if your application or registration isn't fully approved and completed, you get every euro back — minus any government fees already paid on your behalf. And because we check the conditions before filing, this should be a question you never have to ask.
