Dates as the law sets them, checked continuously. When a deadline falls on a weekend or public holiday, the Tax Department usually moves it to the next working day, and it announces any extension. Check its announcements on the Tax Department's website before you rely on a date. VAT quarters are shown as calendar quarters; yours are set when you register.

How the dates work.

Each date comes from a rule in the law. The 2026 reform moved the yearly returns, and the Tax Department extends some deadlines each year.

  1. 01VAT returns and payments are due on the 10th day of the second month after each quarter. So the last quarter of the year is due the following February: 10 February 2027 for Q4 2026.
  2. 02From tax year 2026, the corporate return, the self-employed return and the tax balance are all due on 31 January two years later. The 2025 balance was due 1 August 2026 and the 2026 balance is due 31 January 2028, so 2027 has no August payment.
  3. 03Two dates are the usual ones rather than fixed: Intrastat on the 10th of each month, and the employer's annual TD7 on 31 May 2027. They're marked "Usual date" until the Tax Department confirms them.
  4. 04Dates on a weekend or public holiday usually move to the next working day. Don't count on it: filing and paying a few days early settles the question.

On the 10th day of the second month after the quarter ends, for the return and the payment together. For calendar quarters that's 10 May, 10 August, 10 November and 10 February of the next year. Your own quarters are set when you register, so check them.

The return for 2025 is due 31 March 2027. From tax year 2026 the date moves to 31 January two years on, so the 2026 return is due 31 January 2028, the same day as the balance of the tax. The 2024 return was extended to 30 November 2026.

In two equal instalments, on 31 July and 31 December of the tax year itself. You estimate the year's taxable income by the first date. 31 December is the last day to revise the estimate.

The Tax Department usually moves it to the next working day, and announces it. Don't plan on it: a payment that arrives a day late is late. Filing and paying a few working days early costs nothing.

Tick what applies to you and press "Add to my calendar". That downloads an .ics file. Apple Calendar and Outlook open it directly; in Google Calendar, import it under Settings. Each deadline is an all-day event with a reminder a week before. The file doesn't update itself, so download it again after an extension is announced.

Within 28 days of your company's annual return date, every year, whether the company traded or not. It goes to the Registrar of Companies, not the Tax Department, and the date is your company's own, which is why it isn't on the calendar above. Filing late costs up to €150 in penalties.
